About Peter Jones China
In 1963 at the age of only 21, Peter Jones opened his first shop in Cross Street, Wakefield. His commitment and passion for the industry and only the finest products has been the key factor in the ongoing success and development of the company.
Our history
Forty years on, the company remains a family run business, employing 120 people in 9 shops and a mail order office - retailing 20,000 lines from the world’s leading brands. Peter Jones China is one of the largest independent specialist gift retailers in the UK and commissions many exclusive limited edition products direct from leading manufacturers, shipping to customers all over the world.
Our motto
The company motto is “Peter Jones - for something special”. We believe this simple statement is core to everything we do. Our aim is to offer high quality items that are both decorative and inspiring. Our product range encompasses china, glass, collectables, tableware, lighting, jewellery and cookware. Indeed, we like to think that our staff are as passionate about our products as the collectors who buy them!
And it’s not only the products we sell that are special! Our staff believe in offering a truly specialist service to all our customers - by which we mean that you will be served by friendly and well-informed staff, who will spend time to advise you on your purchase. We also offer wide selections within product ranges - not just the pick of the best sellers. Additionally, we can also specially order any item for you from our current suppliers.
