Purchasing from Peter Jones ChinaHow to orderBelow are step by step instructions on how to place your first order.
Finding what you want to buy If you already know what you want to buy, the easiest way to find it is to type in its name into the search box at the top left of the website. Alternatively you can type in a general name into the search box (e.g. "Prince Charles"). This will provide you with a list of items that contain these words.
You can also locate items by using the red menu near the top of the website. You can choose to have the items listed by manufacturer, gift idea (e.g. "weddings"), by our chosen categories (e.g. "Royal Commemorative"), or you may want to view the items that we have on sale.
To find out more information on an item when you see it in a list, click its name. On the homepage you may find out more information about the Exclusive! and New! items by clicking the "more info" button.
Adding items to your basket Your shopping basket is where you store items that you intend to buy. You can always delete items from the Shopping Basket or save them for later if you change your mind. When you find what you want (or what you might want) click the "Add to Basket" link or button next to the item.
When you've added everything you want to the Shopping Basket, click "View Basket" in the top right-hand corner of the page. To start filling in the order form, click the "Checkout" button.
Fill in the order form Provide an email address: Enter your e-mail address, select "I am a new customer and would like to set up an account" and click the "Continue" button. The e-mail address you provide here will be the only e-mail address we can use to communicate with you about your order, so please double-check it. You must use your own e-mail address, even if you're buying something for someone else.
Enter your delivery address: Tell us your full name and where you would like your order sent to. You are able to store multiple addresses in your account.
Giftwrapping: If you have specified that you want to giftwrap your items you can provide information to appear on the gift wrap label here. More information on giftwrapping. After you have chosen your gift wrapping preferences, click "Continue".
Enter your payment details: Next, let us know how you want to pay for your order. We accept Visa, Delta, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Eurocard, American Express, Switch, Maestro, Solo, cheques or postal orders (denominated in Pounds Sterling). You may also call us to provide us with payment information. All orders must be prepaid. If you're paying with a credit or debit card, enter the number without spaces or dashes. We do not take the payment instantly but process the payment when we dispatch your items. Once you have entered your payment details, click "Continue".
Choose your password: Choose a password for your account. Peter Jones China will not provide the password for you. You'll be able to use your e-mail address and password to make changes to your order and account information any time you like, so make sure you remember which e-mail address and password you used. Once you have chosen your password, click "Continue".
Review and submit your order: Make a final check that all the order details are correct and click "Place order". If you would like to change a detail of your order, click "Back". Once an order has been placed you will be issued with an order number. You can use this number to track the status of your order.

Giftwrapping servicePeter Jones China offer a giftwrapping service. When this preference is selected we will giftwrap your items in high quality wrapping paper and attached a gift label before dispatching. You are able to specify the text that will appear on the gift label. The cost for giftwrapping varies according the item you would like wrapped but will ususally be around £5.
How do I specify that I would like my item(s) giftwrapped? When you add items you your basket you can specify which you want to be gift wrapped by checking the Giftwrapped checkbox. The giftwrap price will also be shown.
When do I specify the text I would like on the giftwrap label? When you go through the order process there is a stage where you are able to specify the text for the gift labels for each of the items you would like giftwrapped. |

Refunds and returnsWe operate a “no quibble” exchange and refund policy.
We will gladly refund or exchange any product within 30 days of receipt providing it is returned in perfect condition with original packaging together with any certificates.

Pricing for overseas customersWe operate a “no quibble” exchange and refund policy. All products on our web site are priced in GB Pounds Sterling and are inclusive of VAT at 17.5%.
If the goods are being shipped to an address outside the EC then VAT is deducted. For example a product with a UK price of £100 will be £85.11. |

Managing your accountStarting a new accountClick "Register" on the top right of the screen. Enter your name, provide an email address and choose a password. Logging into an existing accountClick "My account" on the top right of the screen. On the login screen enter your registered email address and your password. If you check the "Remeber me next time I log in" check box, your details will automatically appear in the email and password boxes next time you log in. Click "Login" and you will be taken to your account homepage.
Changing your account detailsOnce you have logged into your account you may change your personal details, your login details (email address and password), as well as add new delivery addresses. You can also check the status of current orders, wedding lists and view historic orders. All these things can be done through taking the links from your account homepage.
Viewing your ordersTo view the status of current orders, as well as historic orders, you must log into your account. Once logged in, click "View orders". From here you are able to select an order from the drop down box at the top of the page. The detail of a specific order is shown below. |

Other HelpWedding lists
Setting up wedding lists Peter Jones China offer a wedding list service. You will soon be able to purchase wedding list items online, however this is currently an offline service only. To set up a wedding list with Peter Jones, you must call one of our experiened staff on 01924 373325. We will arrange an appointment at your closest Peter Jones China shop so we can build your list.
Security guarantee
The secure-server software that we use to process credit and debit cards encrypts all your personal information including card number and name and address. The encryption process takes the characters you enter and converts them into bits of code that are then securely transmitted over the Internet.
None of our customers have reported any fraudulent use of their credit card while using our website. However, in the event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, most banks and card issuers either cover all the charges or may limit your liability to just £50.00. |
